I am not much computer literate. So please bear with me.
I am trying to use Avro 3.1 to create a Bangla website. But I am confused in some ways.
1. If I just type the Bangla texts in FrontPage regular view, save the file as .html, and view it in IE 6 or FF 1.5, FF shows almost all of it correctly, but IE breaks up the 'juktakhkhors' and changes the positioning of the aa-kars / o-kars etc. So for example, Jamil in Bangla would appear to be Jamli in IE.
2. If I set font in FrontPage to, say Rupali, and then use the Avro keyboard to type, FP shows the font to be, Times New Roman in the font field of the menu bar. However, I can still type in Bangla! How do I change Bangla fonts in my webpage? I have all the Unicode fonts that Omicron recommends in their site.
3. Do I have to put the char-set UTF-8 thing inside my html codes?
4. I generally use Notepad for making my html files. I tried there with the Avro 3.1 setting of Character Code (for HTML) and I cannot see what I am typing as far as the text is concerned. All I can see is the unicodes for the letters. So I have little idea before previewing what I am typing.
Making a page in Bangla has been a dream and I think with Avro, I am almost there.
Sincerely,

I think the problem is with your IE. Go to Tools Menu, then Internet Options in IE. Then click on Fonts... button. Select Bengali in the language script list and make sure you have selected a OTF Bangla font there (It may be fonts that comes with avro keyboard, or Vrinda from Microsoft). If Arial Unicode MS or fonts from Alpona Bangla Software is selected there, you cannot view Juktakkhars and Bangla "Kar"/"Matra"/Short form of Bangla vowels correctly.
If these doesn't work, please let us know for further help...

Try with the <font> tag directly in HTML codes. However, if you even don't define any font for your Bangla pages, browsers can easily show them because Opera, FireFox or IE supports user defined font for separate language scripts.

Yes, it is a must when you place Bangla characters (with Unicode encoding) directly in HTML code. Otherwise Browsers and Search Engine Robots/Spiders may not render your page correctly.
However, if you type Bangla using Character Codes in the Html code, this is not necessary.

The character code mode of Avro Keyboard is kept only for those HTML Editors that doesn't support Unicode. As Notepad supports Unicode, there is no reason to type in this hard way.
You can just put char-set UTF-8 in HTML code and directly type Bangla text in NotePad while developing your Bangla web pages.
