Reason of Ekush
Microsoft Windows is the most acknowledged operating system throughout the world. But it is highly dominated artifact to the people and MS have a monopoly to our desktop. Due to the fact, EKUSH is a lineup effort to the Win32 platform, an alternative OS to run your existing windows applications. Our focus is to create the alternative platform; a brilliant Operating System for our community.

Mission Escalation
Since Ekush was started on early 2003, it was not a rapidly-developing project. Almost no progress within a year. Because of the regression, team has agreed upon to prepare a roadmap. As on early 2004, a 24 months roadmap has been prepared. More developers has involved in the project and determined to work progressively; they also determined to write the basic Kernel and GUI within first 12 months and at least an alpha release within the 'roadmap period'.

Bangla Computing
Bengali is one of the most popular and sweetens ancient languages in the world that used by the Bangladeshi nation, a large community in India and also a considerable population all over the world. To modernize our Bengali - alphabet, spelling and typography (etc.), a meaningful and sufficiently workable encoding standard should be developed for computerization.
Because of the erroneous encoding and astonishing evaluation of Bengali script under Unicode, it was impossible to create the computing environment in Bangla. EOS team revealed the issue and actively working to create an extension to build computing environment in Bangla under Ekush.

How did it start?
One day we (the ReactOS developers) stumbled upon a website where someone claimed to be writing a Windows NT clone - this was http://www.akshor.com.
After looking at the screenshots of their bootmanager (Todo: put links to images here) some of us suspected them to have used our FreeLdr bootloader.
