Some basic queries on using Bengali Font in Website What I have done : I have written using Avro Keyboard a bunch of Text in Bengali then saved it in a webpage. The font is : Siyam Rupali Typed Bengali text in Notepad. Format -> Font menu of notepad showing Script : Western The Text is shown as : কোথায় যাচ্ছ । আমি বাড়ি যাচ্ছি । তুমি কোথায় গেলে খুশী হবে আমি জানি না । My FireFox 7 Browser showing bengali text as below - QUOTE  But in Firefox 7 it is not showing properly, as it is showing above. IE8 and Opera Showing properly as below - My Query is : If somebody wants to see my Bengali text in a site do the user need this font "Siyam Rupali" in his computer ? What is the basic to be able to see Bengali by any remote user using any operating system ? Does the remote user need to install the font ? Does the remote user need any language support package to install ? Just installing a recent browser is enough ? I think it is not enough .. What is embedded font ? Solved the problem myself, use LANG="bn" in HTML tag in source code of your HTML page.
