মাইক্রোসফট অফিস (এক্সপি অথবা ২০০৩) ব্যবহার করে আপনি নিম্নোক্ত সমস্যাগুলোর সম্মুখিন হতে পারেনঃ * মাইক্রোসফট ওয়ার্ড এক্সপিতে আপনি স্বরবর্ণের পর য-ফলা লিখতে পারবেন না, যেমন- এটাতে উইনঅ্যাম্প লেখা সম্ভব হয় না। * মাইক্রোসফট ওয়ার্ড ২০০৩ তেও আপনি স্বরবর্ণের পর য-ফলা লিখতে পারবেন না, উপরন্তু রেফ লিখতে গেলে এটি হাজারটা সমস্যা করতে পারে। (নোটঃ ওয়েবপেজ তৈরীর সফটওয়্যার মাইক্রোসফট ফ্রন্টপেজ এক্সপি অথবা ২০০৩ তে আমরা বাংলার জন্য কোন সমস্যা পাইনি।) সমাধানঃ  * আপনি যদি MS Office Xp ব্যবহার করেন তবে আপনাকে অবশ্যই আপনার অফিস আপগ্রেড করতে হবে। অফিস ২০০৩ তে আপগ্রেড করলে পুণরায় নিচের পদ্ধতি অনুসরণ করুন। * আপনি যদি MS Office 2003 ব্যবহার করেন তবে আপনাকে আপনার অফিস সফটওয়্যারের usp10.dll ফাইলটি আপডেট করতে হবে।- ফোরাম থেকে ফাইলটি ডাউনলোড করুন, এরপর Unzip করুন - সমস্ত সফটওয়্যার বন্ধ করে দিন যেগুলোতে আপনি কাজ করছেন। - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Office11 ফোল্ডারে usp10.dll নামে একটি ফাইল পাবেন, সেটি নিরাপদ কোথাও Backup করুন। - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Office11 ফোল্ডারের পুরানো usp10.dll ফাইলটি ফোরাম থেকে ডাউনলোড করা ফাইল দিয়ে Replace করুন। সবচেয়ে ভালো হয় Office 2007 এ আপগ্রেড করলে। এতে কোন dll আপডেট এত ঝামেলা করতে হবে না এবং বাংলা ঠিকভাবে লিখতে পারবেন।এবার উপরোক্ত সমস্যাগুলো আর আসবে না। -------------------- Mehdi Hasan Khan

I use Office 2003 with Service Pack-2. Do I need this "usp10.dll" you are talking about, for Off-2003sp2 ? Did I not get this version (the one you are providing here) or any latter version of usp10.dll with the SP-2 of Off-2003 ?

No matter which version of Windows (2000/2003 server/Xp/Xp sp2) you are using, it is recommended that you will update this DLL for your office (Xp or 2003) because MS Office uses this usp10.dll separately, not from what Windows currently has.

Well, let me clarify the uses of usp10.dll:
When general programs (like NotePad, WordPad, IE...) need usp10.dll ----> They call it from System32 folder When MS Office needs usp10.dll ----> It is used from x:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Officexx folder. As you can see now, you need to update usp10.dll in both places. If you are using WinXp SP2 then System32 folder is updated, but office is still using a patial supported (for Bangla) dll. So, in any case, you need to update this usp10.dll for your office product. -------------------- Mehdi Hasan Khan

Actually, until M$ release a Bangla version of their Office product, no versions (even the forthcoming Office 12) can handle Bangla accurately.  ভাই,সমস্যাটা মাইক্রোসফট্ ওয়ার্ডের। আপনি পাওয়ারপয়েন্ট, এক্সেল, এক্সেস, অথবা পাবলিশারে দেখুন ঠিকই কাজ করবে। আমি ব্যাপারটা মাইক্রোসফট্কে জানালে তারা বলেছে অফিস ২০০৩ সার্ভিস প্যাক টুতে এই সমস্যা নাকি থাকবে না। তবে, সার্ভিস প্যাক টু রিলিজ হলেও, আমি এখনও সেইটা চেক করে দেখি নাই। আমার কাছে একটা ডিএলএল আছে যেটা দিয়ে র্য লিখা গেলেও র্যা লিখা যায় না.... --------------------   |

Now OpenOffice.org Developer Snapshot Build src680_m180 (OOo-Dev 2.0) can also meet our expectations for Bangla Unicode Computing. I hope some this continues till OOo 2.0.4 is released.

I couldn't write MS Word presentations yet I was being able to write perfectly inside the browser window. Avro has performed flawlessly so far, and I must say that this incident did dishearten me a little bit But thank god everything has been solved. |

What I really need is a description in English of what goes wrong and what goes right using simple examples of bangla script, so that I can tell if the DLL problem is present  and later so I can tell if I have fixed it. This will make easy for the inexperienced users who don't know the procedure of this update. |

This dll file is a copyrighted component of Microsoft's. It would be illegal for anybody else to distribute it. So this is not possible to bundle with Avro.

"কিন্তু " শব্দ তে উ-কার নীচে হয়, এখানে হচ্ছে, অথচ word এ হয়না পাশে হয়। ৪. "রুপ"/ "রূপ" শব্দতে উ-কার পাশে হয়, নীচে হয় না। "রুপ/আনোয়ারুল/জারুল" আমাকে একটু হেল্প করেন প্লিজ, এই সমস্যার কারনে , অফিসে হয়তোবা অভ্র আর ব্যবহার করতে পারবোনা। যেহেতু আমি "AVRO" অফিসে introduce করেছিলাম তাই সব দায় ভার আমাকে নিতে হবে...। |

আমি আপগ্রেড করতে পারছিনা। অফিসিয়াল অনুমতি নেই। অফিসে ২০০৩ ব্যবহার করা হচ্ছে। আর এখন অভ্র ৫.০.৬ বেটা তে (রেফ্) ছাড়া সকল সমস্যার সমাধান হয়েছে। (w, Shift A ) দিয়ে "RAB" লিখা যাচ্ছে |

I have been using Avro keyboard since 2006. It's the best Bangla keyboard software available in the market and many thanks to the developers who created this wonderful software. Almost all problems associated with writing professional grade documents have now been solved.
There seems to be one small problem, however. The keyboard doesn't take all fonts - especially Amar Bangla Normal and Bangla 21 February - and many other fonts that are not listed at the Omicron site. It is taking Bidisha - a font not listed in the Omicron site - but not some other fonts like the ones mentioned above. I have replaced the dll file (I am using Windows XP with Service Pack 2) and there is no problem using even some of the non-listed (at the Omicron site) fonts. However, the above-mentioned fonts (Amar Bangla etc) are showing in my fonts menu when I open a MS Word document but they are not working with the Avro keyboard. I think professional writers in Bengali such as me (professional Eng>Ben translator) would be even willing to pay for your software if you can make it work for all possible Bangla open type and true type fonts. |

Avro keyboard is a Unicode based software, so it will only support fonts which are fully Unicode compliant. Bidisha is a unicode code font but it is really old and doesn't support some latest unicode features so it is not recommended by Omicronlab. And the other fonts you mentioned are not Unicode fonts, they use different method. So it is not possible to make Avro support all fonts. -------------------- |

I have typed a doc in Office 2007 in WinXP with font Solaimanlipi with size 14. That is perfect for printing office docs. But When I opened same file in another PC with Office 2010 in Win7, the font size seems very big and the whole document needs to reorder. Here font size 12 is perfect for Solaimanlipi.
How can I solve the problem so that I can use same file to print in both office PC without changing font size? Thanks |
