First of all, this is a thread called - "Wish a feature for Avro Keyboard". So, I guess OmicronLab doesn't mind for opening a discussion of any wild new feature for Avro. Quote from "Report Bug in avro 5.0.8 Beta 4+ REquest FEATURE" REQUEST FEATURE Feature 1:ii) pressing F12 lets you see that keybord is being toggled to bangla/english. there is no such way to see UNicode-Ansi been change (shift+F12) in such a easy way. it only shows Unicode to Ansi being changed, in a dialogue box. ... ... we need unicode to write in web and Ansi for publication. ... ... and we would like to see UNICODE--ANSI has been toggled...just as the way we see Bangla-English mode is toggled. I support the feature to see the active writing mode (Unicode/ANSI) as I can see the active language. This is very helpful to remove any confusion of language & writing mode. But I have a different Idea. At present, the active language icon is in the Avro top bar & system tray. There is no Unicode/ANSI mode icon. A solution can be to add another icon in the Avro top bar showing the Unicode/ANSI mode. But what about the system tray? Is it feasible to add new icon to system tray for changing mode? OmicronLab can arrange vote to place 2 icons. My suggestion is to convert the 2 status language icon (English/Bangla) to 3 status (English/Bangla Unicode/Bangla ANSI). The picture of 3 status of that icon will show clearly about language & writing mode. In that case, this single icon will perform all the language changing and writing mode changing. It will be suitable for both Avro top bar and system tray. Feature 2: Some people dont use the ANSI feature at all. Some people dont use the Unicode feature at all. Should not we consider their case? For this reason, in the options dialog box, a preference can be added - Radio button 1: show Unicode/ANSI changing option - the 3 status icon will remain 3 status icon. Radio button2: Always use (list item 1 : Unicode, list item 2: ANSI) - the 3 status icon will be 2 status icon. Feature 3: In Avro Keyboard 5.0.8, If user is working in English and press Shift+F12, then the Unicode/ANSI mode is toggled but the language is remained English. User has to press the F12 to change the language. This is obvious that when user press Shift+F12, he is intending to write in Bangla. I suggest that when the language is set to English and user press Shift+F12 the both the writing mode will be toggled & the language will be set to Bangla. It can be said that people will press F12 first to change the language and the press Shift+F12 to change mode. Yes, right. If people do that they are conscious about their use of language and mode. But let us consider the unconscious users. |
