I am using Avro 3.1.0 with Windows XP Prof (not SP1 or SP2) and Office XP

Using the Avro Phonetic keyboard layout I can not write 'shrI' in Ekushey Punarbhaba font.
Though I can write it using Ekushey Puja or other font. It seems to be problem of the Punarbhaba font itself. Because if I change the font to Puja after writing, it changes from 'shI' to 'shrI'!

Here is how to reproduce:

* Start MS Word,
* Change Avro keyboard to Phonetic,
* Chnage active font to 'Ekushey Punarbhaba' in MS Word,
* Type: shrI
You should now see:



But what you see is:



* Now select the word 'shI' and change the font to 'Ekushey Puja' and you should see:

I'm going to inform Ekushey font developers about this problem...

I think, I have found another problem. This time its in 'Ekushey Puja' font.

Try writing party in Ekushey Puja font.

using Phonetic keyboard: parrTI

and it will become: paTI^

a totally different thing!

changing the font to some other shows the correct thing!!

I am afraid of this font bugs. Ekushey people have made so nice fonts but they have this kind of sily bugs!

Another thing Mehdi, I am experiencing frequent key and mouse locks when using MS Excel with Avro. The whole keyboard is not locked or the machine does not hang but normal alphabetic keys does not respond. I, then, press ctrl-alt-delete and the keys are unlocked! The problem is: it's not predictible/reproducible :-(

I've found another bug which present in all Open Type Bangla Fonts of Ekushey.

There is no correct glyph for ra+hasanta+khanda ta (that is, khandata with reph). What's the problem then? We people cannot write "Vortsona" (with Avro Phonetic, try- vorrt``sona). There may be other words which uses khandata with reph, but I've found atleast 2/3...

I've already informed about all these problems to Ekushey developers, but no response (WOW! )

But silly news is they stoling font faces from Bijoy, though they could able to produce their own font faces. What a waste of energy...and violating copyright thingy. Bad news is, they even ignore us and didn't apporve mehdi's posting about these bugs at ekushe forum!

Anyway, good news is, We, Omicronlab, starts it's own font project to deliver nice and own fonts to the nation....hope all of us will enjoy the creation....

And now they are distributing Vrinda with design credit, they even dare to alter the copyright and end user lisence info in the font file.

See the screenshot, I've already warned them, and if they don't stop this kind of illigal activites, we are determined to inform it through Bangla ICT. Only for a few people the total IT field is getting poluted

(There is a chance that after warning they will delete the font and will simply say lies! I know this Omi Azad, and that's why the screen-shots are here.)





And here is the email that they sent their member after uploading this font:

wow !! ekushey.org dared to alter the font and distributing as "Vrinda.ttf"

if they wanna modify (!) it then give it a different name and add this note, and they are asking to replace the file :/

What would I say; they rejected our warning email posted on Ekushey group!
Well, now we are bound to inform Paul (Microsoft) about what is happening there in Ekushey. The Most Valued Professional (MVP) Mr. Omi Azad has moved forward to violet Microsoft's policy, what a comedy!

Can anybody post about it on Ankur (too busy )? Ekushey displays at the bottom of their pages that Ankur inspires them. And I'm quite sure; people of Ankur know nothing about these illegal activities! Why to mess up the existing goodwill of Ankur? Its our duty to let them know.

We should also post an email to Bangla ICT. Before that, we are waiting for Paul's reply.

And just visited the file section again...they replaced the previous and upped another one...which one is a sagar font and they put "If you don't want to void Microsoft Copyright Law,Please do not use this font."

This is such a great news! I wish you guys all the best. With Avro, you have made Bangla more interesting. I am sure with your own fonts, it will take the adventure one step further.

But there shouldn't any excuse....if you do that do it personally...

What a person...working good things sametime wasting times for such durty works...god helps him, hope one day omi will relize that he is doing wrong and leave such durty works...god bless him
