In another thread, there is discussion how to customize existing unicode based fixed keyboard layout and create new fixed keyboard layout in Ubuntu/Linux (by X Keyboard - not IBus), Mac OS X (by Ukelele) and Windows (by Avro Keyboard).

In this thread, there is discussion about developing Avro Phonetic in Mac by Ukelele software.

This link has a project to create all popular Bangla fixed Keyboard layout (Bornona, UniBijoy, Rupali, Munir Optima, Bijoy, National) using KMFL in IBUS (except Unijoy and phobhat, because they are already available in IBus) in Ubuntu/Linux.

Here is - how to develop the Avro Phonetic layout in Ubuntu/Linux by Keyboard Mapping for Linux (KMFL) using IBus.
You can check the Installation Guide for Ubuntu, Programmer's guide and User's guide of KMFL.
You can check the Avro phonetic layout in here.

(to be continued...)

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm trying to build an Avro-based layout on ibus-kmfl. I'll release it if I am able to build it successfully smile.gif

I am grateful to you. I have no words for thanks. I hope to work with you as team in this OmicronLab forum to develop many things.
In this thread I have discussed to customize and create any fixed keyboard layout using the "X Keyboard" technology. But that is not based on IBus. KMFL is IBus based and more flexible. So, I have started another project here to create all popular Bangla fixed Keyboard layout (Bornona, UniBijoy, Rupali, Munir Optima, Bijoy, National) using IBUS (except Unijoy and phobhat, because they are already available in IBus) in Ubuntu/Linux.

Cool. I won't be able to provide much time in this month (got an end-semester coming up). I can surely collaborate with you. I'm primarily interested to port it to Ubuntu through ibus. We can start a project page on Launchpad / Sourceforge for the keyboard layout we design. By they way, for the start, I plan to extend the phonetic version of Avro to ibus-kmfl.

There are other developers who are porting Avro to ibus, if they succeed it will be great. However, I would like to continue on this project as an alternative on KMFL, in that case.
